Go green and clean this National Recycling Week
Posted on 9th November 2017 by Caitlin Adamson
It’s time we up the ante on recycling because, yes, National Recycling Week starts on Monday 13th November. Many salon, spa and barber businesses in the industry are getting their grip on waste, cutting down on plastics, chemicals, and all things messy. All to help keep our beautiful country pristine. We like to help, and while we can’t remove your waste for you, we can give you a few little handy tips.
Embracing salon software allows you to jettison the appointment book and those scrappy bits of paper that ruined any attempt at keeping sound client records. And there are other ways your Shortcuts software can help reduce waste:
Keep on top of inventory and buy only the products you need, when you need them. It will ultimately cut back on oversupply and waste. You can quickly see which products sell best and order accordingly. Some businesses have introduced a returns policy, helping clients dispose of their empty plastic bottles by doing it for them.
The new option of emailing receipts saves on paper and print, and thereby reduces the need to replace printer cartridges.
Recycle gift cards
You can reprogram gift cards so they can be reused over and over, instead of tossing them in the trash. This is perfect if your client has used their gift card up and would like another – you can simply reprogram their current card.
Use digital tools
Send out news via Set & Forget email to push traffic to your website or social media – it’ll save on old-fashioned print marketing. Digital marketing is dominating right now anyway! It’s also more immediate, allowing a dialogue between you and your clients during appointment gaps.
Now you’ve got an action plan to go green and clean this National Recycling Week!
