We have a little secret for you: marketing is about more than just playing around on Facebook.

Don’t get us wrong, marketing is fun and it can also be simple once you’re in the know. If words like Adwords and SEO send your head spinning, then grab a cup of tea, sit down and let’s work through this together.

All you need to do is follow a few simple steps in the marketing lifecycle to entice potential clients and convert them to loyal customers. Don’t fret, you’ll be a marketing maven in no time!


Content is key

Content marketing is all about creating valuable content, like videos and blogs, to capture your clients’ attention, teach them more about your business, and convert them to a paying customer.

Instagram Stories or Facebook Live can help you educate your clients and answer any questions they have through a live stream and in an informal format. Read: you don’t need bright lights and a fancy studio to make valuable video content. 

Snazzy mobile apps such as Boomerang have made it even easier to create edgy content that will stop users scrolling in their Insta feeds, and make them click on your profile and visit your website.


Remember ratings and reviews

So you’ve nabbed their attention, but how do they know if you’re really any good at what you do? Review sites such as mylocalsalon, Yelp and Tripadvisor are a go-to for potential clients on the snoop and often they will make a decision based on what they read.

You can get involved in this stage by responding to any negative review smudging your otherwise stellar rating. Always apologise to the client and see if you can come to a solution you’re both happy with.

Get it right and they will switch back to being a happy chappy client while any potential clients will see just how helpful you are and scurry off to that book now button.
